My old friend Matt Corwine has a new album coming out called No Scene. Here’s what he has to say about it:

No Scene was actually written in the summer of 2003. The ideas had been bubbling for a while, but after attending a local club night sponsored by yet another “DJ collective” that attracted nobody but the DJs and their friends, I pretty much lost it. So I decided to vent a little about the state of the culture - which I saw as a self-referential echo chamber filled with DJs, producers and label owners who fritter about with Yet Another radio show, club night, Web site, DJ collective and chart spam, chattering on and on about “the scene” while seemingly unaware that what they are doing has no audience anymore — a hobbyist clique pretending to be an industry.
