Daily affirmations of a word mercenary
For those keeping track at home, my current contract at work has been extended another 3 months. This is good, except for this whole lack of healthcare thing is starting to wear me down a bit.
Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, was published last year.

Oh, you’re singing my song. It’s the plight of working in Seattle, isn’t it? Being a contractor indefinitely. My husband’s employer keeps promising him hey ARE going to hire him full time, they just have to get it past the budget guy. Meanwhile I’m 15 weeks pregnant with no insurance. Oh, but they’ve extended his contract until April. Sigh.

Hey Chasmyn: YOU CAN GET HEALTH INSURANCE! Washington State Basic Health is available to pregnant women — in fact, pregnant women, kids under 5, and sr. citizens are the only folks who can get Basic Health. Check it out: http://www.basichealth.hca.wa.gov/
