		<description>This is a slashdot phenomonon, that has now been extended elsewhere. On /. it's actually quite a technical achievement (sad, but it is hard to do) to be the first commentor on a newly-posted article, given the massive usage of the system.  
Elsewhere, it's just a sad way of screaming, "Look at me!"</description>
