When you get your good faith estimate, research it. If you feel you are getting jipped, look for someone else. you are not locked in until you sign all your papers. I researched and threatened the one I was using and she dropped alot of her fees and such. We stayed with her when she did that. SHOP SHOP SHOP. You still have a little bit of time. B/c of my mortgage broker’s incompetence we almost lost our house b/c the signing kept getting delayed. I learned the hard way, if and when I buy again I'm going directly through a bank. Interest rate may be a little bit higher but everything is streamlined, less hidden BS fees and not half-assed. Best of luck, your almost there. I ran into the same thing when we bought our house.
