Our mortgage broker has sadly proven herself to be a bit inept, and keeps hitting us with surprises in the last couple days before we close on the house. Highly irritating. Highly stressful. The homebuying process has been relatively smooth until now, so I guess this is our last little bump on the road. *wheeze*

I ran into the same thing when we bought our house. B/c of my mortgage broker’s incompetence we almost lost our house b/c the signing kept getting delayed.
I learned the hard way, if and when I buy again I’m going directly through a bank. Interest rate may be a little bit higher but everything is streamlined, less hidden BS fees and not half-assed.
Best of luck, your almost there.

Research every little charge she gives you. When you get your good faith estimate, research it. If you feel you are getting jipped, look for someone else. you are not locked in until you sign all your papers.
I researched and threatened the one I was using and she dropped alot of her fees and such. We stayed with her when she did that. SHOP SHOP SHOP. You still have a little bit of time. Just enough to ask around their fees and blah blah blah.
