		<description>I agree with the Salon author.  Harajuku girls have been "popular" for about 15-20 years now, so it's no "new" thing, except for mainstream America.  Stefani does a great job of "using" and abusing Japan and Japanese girls' fashion to her advantage.   It's a shame that she has to   reinforce sterotypes of Asian women.  The sad thing is that a lot of girls are way into Stefani and her memes.</description>
