Last night while I was asleep I went to a stretch of Washington coastline where there were no burial laws or regulations. People could go to this beach and deal with their loved ones however they wanted. There were a lot of shallow mounds in the soil just off the sand, and I noticed one body wrapped in fabric, with a small pile of burning fragrant leaves and incense set on a tray on its chest. I thought to myself, “Isn’t that nice that people can grieve however they choose.”
Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, was published last year.
