It’s midsummer and that means my weekends are booked solid. So exciting! Next weekend is Phoenix Fest. Despite my rocky history with both the event and its founder, I’m super excited to go this year. I’m camping with a pretty sizable group of friends, which feels sort of rare these days. Years ago all my friends went to outdoor parties all summer long. Now? Not so much. I’m totally looking forward to spending a long weekend with a big pack of ‘em. Also, Kara and Rob and I are hosting a hooping thing there, which should be fun.
The weekend after that is our Bainbridge Island camp-out. The wedding last year was fun and all, but Dre and I were too busy running around to just enjoy camping with our friends, so we’re doing it again this year minus the whole matrimonial part. I’m totally excited. My biggest issue is going to be not letting myself get wrapped into crazed hostessing and logisticking all weekend long. Sometimes I get a little too focused on my guests and suddenly the party’s over and all I’ve done is run around helping people. I will not let that happen. I SWEAR! Seriously. If anyone reading this is at the camp-out, DO NOT LET ME RUN AROUND ALL WEEKEND.
Then the week after that Dre and I heading to Wildhorse Island out in Montana’s Flathead Lake. I plan to bring a dozen books and read them all while floating in an intertube.

what i love about you is that you DO shit. so many bloggers just link, crosslink, and get so meta about it all that it’s a drag. yours is an inspiring log of a real life. kudos!

Here’s a secret: most bloggers’ lives are more exciting than their blogs let on.
