I started using Last.fm to track my music at the beginning of this year. I really liked the idea (you install a little plug-in, and it then spies on what mp3s you listen to, creating your own top 40 lists), but the site was clunky as fuck. There was last.fm and then there was audioscrobbler.com and the two were the same but different and it was just not especially good. But now they’ve combined into just Last.fm and it’s cool. If you want to, download the player, check my profile and then you can listen to a radio station of all my favorite music (just click “Start Radio” on my profile page — it’s in the top right). It’s pretty awesome. One minute it’s Ulrich Schnauss and Cujo and then all of a sudden it’s Mandy Moore and Kylie Minogue and then it’s Philip Glass and Aphex Twin and then it’s OutKast and George Michael. Welcome to my post-raver musical tastes.
