Daily affirmations of a word mercenary
When I woke up this morning and saw that it was cloudy, I thought to myself, “Thank GOD. It’s been too bright and hot lately.” I’m totally excited for the rains to start this year. Andreas and I are getting our new oil (biodiesel!) furnace installed in a couple weeks, and it’s going to be a cozy, warm winter. And yes, I know it’s stupid to be excited about this in August, but I hate late summer and thinking about a dark, rainy winter is all that gets me through my doldrums.
Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, was published last year.

Ooh, I’m with both of you. I can’t wait for the Portland rains to come. This over-80 and dry everyday is really starting to piss me off.

Summer here is full of rain. It’s the only thing that cools the days and nights down. It’s nice.

I felt just the same when I lived in the NW: All this sun is getting tedious! I want cozy sweater and pot of tea days, all drizzly and nice!

It’s so nice to hear other people that love the rain and our NW weather. I LOVE it and am a wee bit annoyed when people complain ad nauseum about it..
