It probably is! I just got back from a week in Tokyo and I couldn’t believe how many hot dog places there were. Surprisingly little pizza, surprisingly many hot dogs. Weird.

Fun fact: maraschino-ish cherries in Japan have pits. I probably cracked a tooth the first time I ate one.
(And sorry to nitpick, but these are packed lunches for kids. They usually don’t include raw fish. Think basic picnic lunch–no refrigeration.)
