I love my new Sidekick. It’s the best toy EVER. I love how I can have my gmail forward a copy of all my messages to my phone. I love how I can read my bloglines subscriptions on the bus. I love how I am finally (FINALLY!) a member of the text messaging masses. It’s my new best pal.
Friends: if you have my cell number (it’s the same one), you can now text message me. I love text messaging. It’s fantastic. And the Sidekick’s qwerty keyboard makes it so delightful. I have less minutes on this plan than I did on my Sprint plan, which is fine because I can text instead and we’re getting Vonage at home which means free long distance from home so no need to use the cell for that. Oh, geeky days are here again.
My goal with the sidekick is to minimize my time in front of my PC. I can’t tell you how often I sit down at the PC to “check my email,” only to see that there is no email, but oh what’s this? Click click click. Oh look: it’s an hour later! With the Sidekick I know I don’t have mail. No need to sit down at the PC. It’s nice.
Bonus: Moblogging is back!
