I got this today:

Dear Client:
Last night there was an attack on the Netbunch servers. Some of the server got hacked and were completely erased. We are currently working with our best administrators and security experts to have the servers restored. On certain servers the backups were attacked as well resulting in deletion of data. If you site is down and you have backup of your data, PLEASE open a trouble ticket requesting your account to be recreated on a new and secured server. WebHostPlus would like to assure all clients that all necessary measures is been taken to find the person responsible and take legal action.

Thank you,
WebHostPlus

---

Reading around on other sites, an amazing series of convoluted scams have surfaced, worthy of a pulp crime novel.

Basically, WHP seem to have snuffed out Netbunch sometime on or after August 24th, 2006.

I was one of the eejits that hung around for a bit longer..

OJ is helping WHP search for some Puerto Rican guy seen at the server farm..

Ack, Peter! If I wasn't already migrating to Dreamhost, I certainly would be after reading your comment. Scary shit!

This is BAD NEWS.

Webhostplus have a bad reputation for a major server crash that occured last year. I was one of the clients who lost data, profits and traffic because of those morons. They wouldn't answer my e-mails, I called them a dozen times and they always gave me stupid answers. A nightmare.

And now my mesopia/netbunch account is being transplanted to Webhostplus.

BAD NEWS INDEED.

I don't want to sound dramatic or something, but here's a piece of friendly advice:
BACKUP YOUR FILES!

Just in case it happens again...I know what they're capable of...unfortunately... :(

Hear hear. I like having an account just to play around with, and really don't keep a worthwhile website. But even me and my minor usage has uncovered technical problems. Here's hoping that they both fix their support issues and let me keep my $20/year hosting plan...
