Daily affirmations of a word mercenary
I just found some notes I took about some feedback I received to some of my writing. In purple rollerball ink, I drew an arrow to the feedback and noted “Not sure I agree. Other people’s insecurities not my issue.”
HA!
(This may only be funny to me because I’ve been revising and editing my book off ‘n’ on for 12 hours now.)
Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, was published last year.

This is a thing of beauty. Truly. save this: you will want to see it again someday about many an editorial comment.
In related news, at the tail end of the first gargantuan edit of my book, I accepted an ex-girlfriend’s help (who knows why) on some edits.
In a section about vulval anatomy, she made several notes about her own cervical mucus and her feelings about it. (She was not particularly helpful with the editing process, to say the least.) I should have made the note you did, really. Instead, my notes on her notes read, “M’s vaginal discharges no longer my concern.”
P.S. Happy birthday, babe!
