Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, was published last year.

Aren’t you afraid people will come and rob/maim/kill you in your sleep if you sleep with the doors open?
Or I am just THAT much of an urbanite? I won’t even leave my third-floor windows open when I leave the house.

Our back yard is loosely fenced, but nope, I honestly just don’t worry about it. Most robbers would rather be thieves, and break-ins in our neighborhood tend to happen during the day when there’s no one home, because it’s easier to take someone’s shit in peace rather than trying to be all quiet and sneaky and bumping around in the dark and assaulting people. Makes sense tome. And as for psychopaths? A closed door’s certainly not going to stop them.
That said, Seattle’s no New York or LA.
