Daily affirmations of a word mercenary
Today I head south to attend BlogHer. If the name didn’t tip you off, it’s a women’s blogging conference. I’m excited and have packed all my best shoes because while I loves me the geeky ladies, we are an infinitely tougher crowd than a conference full of dude geeks. That said, there’s something sort of giddy-making about going to hang out with some of my favorite blog celebrities. Plus, I’m shacking up with Helen Jane (who I have met) and Leah (who I have not) and we are totally rocking that shit slumber party style and whoever falls asleep first gets her wifi card stuck in the freezer! TEE-HEE!
This also marks the beginning of my three-week summer vacation. First a BlogHer, then a few days of quiet retreat, then home for preparations for our summer camp-out, then the camp-out, then a couple days of prep for Shambhala, then Shambhala (PARTY OF THE YEAR!) and then it’s back home to unpack and get down to business and wait for the rains to start.
Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, was published last year.

Have a great time at BlogHer. Here’s hoping you can blog during/about it for those of us who can’t be there this year.
Sounds like your summer is off to a fun, busy start!
