Open house — now with leaks!

Nothing like having a big house party where people come over in part to see your new bathroom … and then halfway through the evening realizing that the upstairs toilet is leaking into the basement bathroom. “Hi! Welcome to my house where pee drips through the floor! Cocktail, anyone?”

Is there a better metaphor for the Basement of Shame than pee dripping from the ceiling? Methinks not. Thanks for the party. Good times!

After we remodeled our house in Columbia City 8 or 9 years ago we held a Halloween party.
Highlights included:
1) the toilet backing up and me in my vitange dracula costume using a plunger and well it was a mess - people had to pee out in the back yard. Welcome to the neighborhood!
2) our friend Matt came dressed as an elf so he had these huge props, one of which was a giant wine class filled with Tom Collins. About a gallon of Tom Collins ended up spilling on our newly finished hardwood floors.
3) another guest, one we did not know well, smoked too much and then grazed our buffet table all night. He ended up having a panic attack and called 911. Paramedics show up and tell him he has gas. This guest stays until like 3am convinced he has a heart problem and need to go to the hospital.
But no dripping pee
