Daily affirmations of a word mercenary
I posted this over on my official book blog, but I’m not sure how many of you are over there, so I’ll post here, too: My book is shipping this week from Amazon! I’m not quite sure what happened: I was originally told the book would release the first week of January, then was told that it was being delayed to mid-February, but it looks like the first date was the correct one: books are making their way into people’s hands as we speak!
If you don’t have your copy yet, you have several options:
•Amazon.com
•Powell’s Books
• Call your local independent bookseller — chances are good they’ll have it or can order it. And if they don’t, you help support the book by making it clear that they really should stock it.
• Or … you can buy an overpriced autographed copy directly from me! Only 20 are available for now, but I have more copies on the way.
Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, was published last year.

You know, even though I’m long past my wedding day (thank god) and I know no one getting married in the near future, I’m buying this mutha because I’m betting it has KILLER ideas that would cross over to parties and hosting, etc. You think?

Cerise, while I want EVERYONE to buy my book … I’m really not sure it would help much with general party planning and hosting. That said, you should buy it anyway.

Never mind. Having read your blog and hung out on Flickr I’ve got an iron-clad guarantee that it would at least be terribly amusing.

I have been a huge fan of your writing for the past 4 years; following your blog with an almost-stalker routine for most of those years. When you announced your book deal I was planning on buying it simply to get a dose of your writing. Lucky for me, my boyfriend proposed to me just yesterday and honestly one of the first 15 thoughts running through my mind was “Yes! I totally get to use Ariel’s book now!”. Just wanted to say thank you for writing it and how excited I am for my copy of the book to arrive.
