Daily affirmations of a word mercenary
* Last night I had a dream that I was an amazing dancer. I woke up this morning and went to dance class, but wasn’t able to live up to my own expectations.
* After seeing the spread in the Times yesterday, my mom revealed that one of her early motherhood fears was that her daughter would grow up to be a fashion model. Evidently I am living out my mother’s worst nightmares, one at a time.
* Today I was told to “adjust my attitude.” This should be a lesson to you all that behind the Electrolicious exterior, I’m actually a shady character, full of acid and spit.
* I can’t stop listening to Just Jack’s album, Overtones. Here are some lyrics for you: Lookin’ around at my friends and I can see that the end of an era has come to pass/The fun and the games and the fluid in our brains have all been reduced by half/So let’s just hold on to what we’ve got right now. If that bums you out, then listen to “Glory Days” instead.
Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, was published last year.
