Oops. I missed the seven year anniversary of my first blog post. In the seven years since I started blogging I have:

  • Moved 6.5 times (Oly, NYC, Sea, LAX, Sea, Sea, Sea, Sea)
  • Worked at four permanent jobs, at least five contract positions and countless freelance gigs
  • Purchased two properties
  • Written one book
  • Founded two big websites (hooping.org, offbeatbride.com) and numerous little ones
  • Blogged at three domains (urbanforest.blogspot.com, arielmeadow.com, electrolicious.com)
  • Aged from 25 to 32
  • Gotten married
  • Etc.

Here’s to seven more years, although at this point I’m not sure what it would take to make me stop. This is part of how I structure my thoughts and workshop my writing. Before Electrolicious there was Lotus Magazine. And before there was Lotus, there was a college website where I wrote about online publishing. And before the website, there was IRC. And before IRC, there were BBSes. I’ve been writing and communicating with people online since I was 17 years old, and before that I used to make weird gossip zines for my classmates. I think this is just what I do. Thanks for joining me.
