		<description>I think all mobile UIs have sucked until iPhone came out. There hasn't been enough time for everyone else to catch up yet.

I'm surprised you didn't look at any Windows Mobile phones. The Smartphone version of Windows Mobile is actually okay, and if you're at MS I think you can get discounts on them even greater than what the mobile providers offer, as well as access to beta software and OS releases.</description>

The first thing I did when I got my Pearl was to install a prettier theme with better icons.  It didn't help the ugly menu situation, but at least I no longer cringe every time I look at my phone's screen.

Oh, and http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com is a great resource for new BB owners (it's where I found the themes).</description>
