She was torn up so badly that she basically died on the sidewalk. 911 was called almost immediately and people rushed out to help her -- you KNOW how close we are to hospitals (2 blocks to Group Health), police stations (5 blocks away on 12th), fire stations (3 blocks down Pine), etc...but she was DOA. There are rumors that the guy was a "creepy" volunteer from the Sierra Club, where she worked.
