Daily affirmations of a word mercenary
If you’re the type who cares about this thing, read on.
So, look! It’s a new theme for Electrolicious! Thanks as always to my beloved right-hand coding wingman, JMDodd. She’s been helping me code/design my websites now for, uh, what — like five years? HONOR THE DODD!
The one totally new thing is the Gravatars in the comments section. See the little orange box next to commenter’s names? You can change yours to be whatever you want on this site.
Anyway, as always with a new theme, feel free to file bug reports or things that aren’t working as you’d expect. While the site has been skinned differently, almost all the functionality is the same.
Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, was published last year.

I like it! The colors are fun, and I like the Photostream layout a lot. The only bug I can see is a typo in your tagline: “Daily affirmations of of…”
It’s a rad tagline, though.

Where has the green gone? Very different though keeping the same curly pictures. I like it.

Elli: BWAHAHA! Nice catch on the tagline typo. That’s hilarious. Fixed now, but I was tempted to leave it for effect.

i dig it! my one kibitz is the somewhat the same as last time - i think the logo would look better left-justified. as it is, when i look at the main page, my eye is drawn into the “wrong” direction (to the right), away from the posts. but i could probably get used to it over time…

There’s stuff you want to read over there though, Ben — like my link blog and Google Reader shared items. I’m ok with your eye drifting to the right.

Fantastic new design! Many many useful and eye-catching sections, details, accents, use of space…
The “Don’t Make Me Think” voice in my head only has one TINY usability suggestion:
The position of the RSS links seems “attached” to the search box, in the place where an “Advanced Search” link might normally be.
That plus the ambiguity of the orange-on-orange RSS icon, led me to literally click on the icon wondering if it was a “search THIS or search THAT” modifier. And I’m not NORMALLY an idiot, and I’m sure many of your readers are plenty RSS-savvy, but for those that aren’t, this might be confusing.
[There are plenty of other places right near there that would work perfectly, like "underneath the Hey There blurb" or, even more appropriately, as part of the "recent comments/articles" section, or somewhere in between...]
Great work, and props to the Dodd!

beautiful! i’m totally into this kind of aesthetic, obvi, as i recently had similar swirlies tattoo’d on my body. i love the color scheme too.
7 years and i’ve not redesigned my blog, so i live vicariously through you on this one.
