Cleanse - Day 19

22 Feb 2003 In: Cleanse

Thus far I have learned:
1. How to swallow seven herbal suppliments simultaneously, five times a day.
2. The Just Tomatoes, etc products are really tasty. (Thanks to Mackenzi for the heads up)
3. That shakes made from almond milk are outstanding.
4. Andreas should not play a hard, three hour game of soccer when he’s not consuming the [...]

Cleanse - Day 18

21 Feb 2003 In: Cleanse

Uncomfortable intestines today. Sort of … puffy feeling.

Cleanse - Day 17

20 Feb 2003 In: Cleanse

Feeling quite airy today, if you get my drift. In related news, there is nothing more terrifying than passing flatus while wearing headphones. Did it make a noise? Did everyone hear? Will laughter ensue? Even if it did, it wouldn’t be audible over the music on the headphones. OH HORRORS!

Protein

20 Feb 2003 In: Cleanse

Andreas sent me this article about exercise, protein and a vegan diet, on the website of Brandan Brazier, a vegan Iron Man winner.

Cleanse - Day 16

19 Feb 2003 In: Cleanse

Today was hard. I was hungry for a lot of the day, and that makes things difficult. I think the problem was not having a bottle of good juice at work, a problem which has been remedied for today.

Cleanse - Day 15

18 Feb 2003 In: Cleanse

I pee constantly. Many many times a day and night. Does this indicate too much sugar via juices and fruit? I’ve added some cranberry tea to my diet to counter-act any sugar affects. Naturally, the tea makes me pee even more.
Weight stable, which means I’m at -3 pounds from when I started.
Energy has been pretty [...]

Cleanse - Day 14

17 Feb 2003 In: Cleanse

[there was a great picture of a really good salad here, but I accidently erased it.]

Sardonic

17 Feb 2003 In: Cleanse

Here’s an article about raw foods diet that also meantions the cleanse I’m on. The article is fantastically sardonic and irreverent. I love it.

Relapse

17 Feb 2003 In: Cleanse

Much in the same way that recovering smokers, alcoholics, and addicts have “relapse dreams,” last night I had cleanse relapse dreams.
In the first one, I was at a restaurant on my lunch break from work. I ordered a salad, and then a seafood pasta. The pasta arrived and I realized what I’d done, but it [...]

Cleanse - Day 13

16 Feb 2003 In: Cleanse

Food to add to “cravings” list: a fish taco from Baja Burrito down on the boardwalk. TW had one today and boy, did it ever look good.
One thing I’ve been denied during this cleanse that I am not missing? Alcohol. I know that Dre’s been agonizing a bit, missing his beloved beer, but when TW [...]
