Daily affirmations of a word mercenary
Here’s me rocking the last of my Warmies at Rummage yesterday (thank to Kim for the moblog picture). I didn’t do quite as well as I did last time, which was to be expected…my friends got their sets last month, and it’s springtime! But I still had a great time selling and people-watching and talking [...]
So, I think we’re heading into the last few weeks of Warmies production. I’ll be selling them again at Rummage on the 6th of March, but that’ll mostly be a blow out end-o’-season sale. The last day Warmies will be available for order online will be February 29th.
I think all of you elish readers who [...]
Ok, I’m sure most of you are sick of all the Warmies talk, but this strange half-hazard project is exciting and fun and taking up a lot of my time, so you get to hear about it.
Today the SUPER SECRET SWEATER STORE was having a massive 50% off everything sale. After yesterday’s success at Rummage, [...]
14 Warmies enter [with me], 4 Warmies leave [with me].
Oh boy, I am just getting all sorts of shit done.
I’ve completed 49 pages of writing for my book proposal. Supposedly I should have 50-100 pages of sample book to submit with the proposal itself, so I’m very close to being done. This exercise has been very good for me. Granted, it’s been like pulling [...]
Everyone remembers how much I love Rummage, Seattle’s fantastic crafts bazaar, right? (If not: reminder 1 and reminder 2.)
Rummage is happening again this weekend, and this time…I’ll be a vendor there!
Yes, it’ll be me and a table of my Warmies at Rummage. If you’re in the Seattle-area, you should swing by! I’m working on a [...]
One of my favorite parts about the Warmies process is when I wrap the Warmies up in heart-covered tissue paper, tuck a poem inside, and write the address on the envelope. Writing addresses on envelopes gives me deep satisfaction, and reminds me of when I had so many pen-pals that I actually drew up my [...]
Wet Hot American Summer.
I especially like how the DVD offers a “Soundtrack with extra farts” option along with the director’s commentary.
This whole thing bodes poorly, however, for the futile resistance of my festering crush on Michael Ian Black.
I actually made a little webpage to sell my hat/legwarmer sets, which I’ve decided to call Ariel’s Warmies! I already have a few sets on order, and am happy to make more.
For Christmas this year, I made some couple-friends matching hat/leg warmer sets made out of children’s sweaters. The sweater arms became the flared leg warmers (for her), and the body of the sweater became the hat (for him). Because really: doesn’t every couple want to wear matching winter accessories?
The gifts were pretty silly, complete with [...]
