Yahooping

Last night I broke out of my agoraphobic bubble and went to The Echo to meet up with Megasoul. I decided, on a whim, to bring my hoop into the club with me…just in case there was room to dance with it.
Since there was no cover, the dance floor was packed, but I did [...]

This morning my favorite online radio station (Flaresound.com’s Jazzy Beats) played a song I hadn’t heard or thought of in years: Electric Skychurch’s “Deus.”
It inspired me to pull out the album, Together. What a classic! This CD has definitely stood up to the test of time, taking its place in my audio history as a [...]

This weekend Jolayne introduced me to hooping as a form of dance. I’d seen it done before (most recently just last weekend), and know it’s a burgeoning dance form in San Francisco and Los Angeles, but I’d never actually given it a shot. I think it is my new obsessive hobby.
[Update from 2003: Oh dear. [...]
