Daily affirmations of a word mercenary
This is where photo posts go. Despite the voyeuristic category name you won’t find any photos that are erotic or scandalous. If you want to cut straight to the chase, you can browse my photos on Flickr.

Remember, folks: BEACH LOGS KILL! (Photo from Dre and my June 2002 trip to LaPush, WA)
Today is Andreas’ and my five year anniversary. To commemorate the occasion, I made one of those cheesy couple webpages that are so popular these days. Enjoy!
Ever one to be true to my word, here’s a new hooping video! [video taken offline, sorry] And, unlike all my old camvids, this one is .avi instead of .exe, which means that even my Mactarded friends can get in on the fun! (And don’t you love the little reader board action before the video? Another cool feature of this incredibly awesome new webcam.)
Things to keep in mind:
1. I was standing on my bed, which is why the ceiling looks so low, and why, every time I take a step, it looks like I’m plodding through quicksand.
2. The file is 1.28MB. It may take some time to download.
3. The video has no sound (didn’t want the file to be too obscenely large), but I was listening to Slide 5’s “KC Doppler” while filming. For best results, stream it while you watch.
4. For added entertainment, try comparing my hoop video from late August with this current one. Be amazed at the progress! Think of how you too could go from hoop novice to master in just a few short months!![]()
Just got a package in the mail today, and what should I find? Why, it’s a new webcam! And who’s it from? Why six separate readers! Thanks to Choire, Echo, Ericalynn, Joost, Matt Threeonethree, Paisley, and Vera, I have a webcam again! Thanks to each of you! I’ll try to update the cam image daily now. And I’ll try to make a new hooping video soon!

Last night it started raining. It rained off-and-on all night. It’s expected to rain all day today. It may still be in the mid-50s outside, but I’ll take what I can get.
[Update: Went for a long walk in rain. Very much enjoyed.]
The hooping workshop was a fun, although I could have used a bit more technical direction and/or focused instruction. It was more like just a hooping party. Regardless, I got myself an awesome new hoop (smaller than my first, and much prettier), and picked up a couple new moves.
Sadly, the car ride home found me head-achey, nauseus, and generally nasty feeling from not eating enough all day. What a sad way to finish up a nice afternoon. I had to come home and collapse into bed to make the bad feelings go away.
