Logistica Category

Nitty gritty makes the world go round. Did this work? Can you see this? Is this thing on? This category is probably a real snore, but hey: sometimes the details must be addressed.

Blogiversary

3 Nov 2002 In: Logistica

Danielle just reminded me that today is my two year blogiversary. Marvel at how times have changed.

I think I failed to notice that today is my blogiversary because A) despite the fact that it is November, I am wearing a tshirt and shorts; and B) I am too busy wallowing in a foul mood to lift my head up and look around.

The second coming

1 Oct 2002 In: Logistica

Here it is! The second coming of Electrolicious. Besides the change in location, you might not notice too much different right now, but trust me: the back end is drastically different. I switched from using BloggerPro to Movable Type, and here are some of the exciting changes you might notice:

1. Categorized entries
See how, to the right of the comments link at the bottom of this post, it says “Logistica”? That’s one of almost 10 different categories of post that I write (including Journalish, Linkage, Narrative Non-Fiction, Product Placement, and others). Starting today, you’ll be able to read my archives by category — just click the category link at the end of the post. (And no, I’m not going to categorize the last 18 months of posts, and yes, my old Blogger archives are still available. They’re listed by month in the sidebar.)

2. Better commenting options
Finally, you can use HTML tags in comments, and I’ve also added a preview option so you can double-check for typos or glaringly offensive content.

3. Links to recent post titles
Now you’ll be able to browse my recent posts by title. Just look over there for “Posted Recently” in the sidebar.

4. Lots of other stuff
Movable Type makes things much easier for me in lots of boring geeky ways you probably don’t care about. Regardless, you’ll probably see some new features and options around here as I get increasingly used to MT and its many awesome features like TrackBack.

I’m sure there’ll be some glitches here and there, so be sure to let me know if you get any weird errors or broken links. Oh, and sorry to make you do this, but now’s as good a time as any to change your bookmarks and links to Electrolicious’ new home here at arielmeadow.com/electrolicious. I’ll leave the current arielmeadow.com as it is for several months, but eventually it’ll simply point to my resume, so be sure to update your links — I don’t want anyone confused!

Isn’t it exciting? Special thanks to Brenna Koch (that’s cook, not cock), who held my hand every step of the way! …And to Jess, who tested out TrackBack for me.

Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, was published last year.
