RSS updates

1 Jul 2004 In: Logistica

Hey everyone who reads this page via an RSS feed like Bloglines or LiveJournal: I just updated my RSS template, and the result was that my last 15 entries reposted to RSS and clogged up your reading. Sorry about that — necessary evil.

TypeKey Again

27 Jun 2004 In: Logistica

I’m experimenting again with TypeKey. It’s back on.

Open Comments

8 Jun 2004 In: Logistica

I’m going to experiment with opening comments back up — unregistered users can comment using their name and email, just like old days. I’m going to see how this affects things in terms of commenting levels, comment spam, etc.
Those of you who are TypeKey registered, please continue logging into TypeKey before commenting.

TypeKey Feedback

2 Jun 2004 In: Logistica

So, the recent construction on Electrolicious seems to be just about complete. The new archives are working (love it!), and the TypeKey registered comments are finally fully integrated. I had to sacrifice my beloved SimpleComments plugin to make TypeKey work, but that’s ok. Special thanks to Jennifer Dodd and Six Apart support for their help.
Perhaps [...]

Construction

21 May 2004 In: Logistica

Things are going to be a little messy around here — I’m working with Jennifer to do some back-end coding changes on Electrolicious, so you may notice some things being weird off ‘n’ on this weekend.
Changes in store:
1. Adding individiual archives
When you link a post, the link will be JUST THAT POST, instead of that [...]

Grumble

19 May 2004 In: Logistica

After upgrading to MT3.0, I’ve found that mt-blacklist doesn’t work. MT3 does make it easier to delete comment spam when it floods in (15+ this morning), but until I get TypeKey set up, MT3 doesn’t seem to do much to STOP the comment spam…and with mt-blacklist broken, I feel a little vulnerable.
So, be watching for [...]

New Design!

9 Apr 2004 In: Logistica

Notice anything different? After over two years of the same look, electrolicious.com has been redesigned! Special thanks to Jennifer from BlogBarter for working the magic.
There are still a few things being cleaned up here and there, but it should be mostly functional. If you have problems, please leave a comment letting me and Jennifer [...]

Problems

26 Feb 2004 In: Logistica

I’m having some problems with my webhost something…Movable Type seems to be stalling out on a lot of functions, and the end result is that stuff isn’t showing up in a timely matter. I’m looking into solutions, but things may be sort of weird around here for a bit.
Update: I think I figured out what [...]

Emailing

17 Feb 2004 In: Logistica

As much as I love dr2.net, I’m a little concerned about using them as my primary email provider. Since dr2’s hosting is so inexpensive, spammers host their domains with them, and send out torrents of mail. The result? The server that my email is sent from gets blacklisted as a spam server and messages I [...]

Hey Electrolicious readers. Do any of you plan to fly JetBlue in the near future? If so, I have a $250 credit that I need to sell.
You see, Dre and I were planning on going to NYC in October. Then the whole “moving to Seattle” thing happened, so we delayed the trip. Then the whole [...]

Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, is in bookstores now.
