Sometimes, pursing a creative career feels like walking a hair-fine line between burn-out and sell-out.
If, in the interest of exposure or experience, you give too much of your work away for free…you get burnt out. No validation. Wheels spinning. Exhaustion.
If, in the interest of financial gain or career advancement, you cater your craft to another’s requests…you feel like a sell-out. Corporate whore. Hypocrite. Traitor.
Somewhere in the middle is a maintainable lifestyle and mindset. As in all things, balance seems key.
