On my tax forms every year, I carefully enter “WRITER” as my occupation. Is it a sham? Do I actually write anything other than self-indulgent online musings? You be the judge. This is where I post links and thoughts on my writings that have been published elsewhere.
For those keeping track, today was my last day of writing Carpet Burn, my bitchy fashion column over at Movies.com. My goal was to get the word colostomy into the Burn at some point, and I succeeded. That, and menarche. That was always my favorite part of the Burn: not only did it make you feel ugly, it made you feel stupid, too! Big words and fashion go together so well. On Monday, my editorial replacement at Movies.com will be taking over the column, putting on my rhinestone tiara and carrying on with the overly-verbose, pretentious pop-ragging tradition.
And If you’re watching the Oscars this weekend, keep your laptop on during the ceremony because I’ll be liveblogging the whole thing over at Movies.com. I liveblogged this last year on my own, and this year I’m doing it in a more official capacity. Laugh along with me as I snark my way into a deep, ironic hole. I don’t know the URL yet; I’ll post it Sunday afternoon.
Go get vapid with my Oscars Fashion Smackdown over on Movies.com. Yup, I’m stilli writing for them, even though I don’t work there.
I wrote a small blurb in the current issue of ReadyMade, which is all about DIY weddings. My blurb is, of course, about hula hooping at weddings. Go look for it at the newstands!
Here’s this month’s column of thematically selected DVDs for your viewing pleasure: 8 Great Lover Boys.
It’s another 8 Great … this time it’s 8 Great Monkey Movies.
Here’s my latest 8 Great column at work, 8 Great Pig-Out movies. Happy Thanksgiving!
