Who Helped

Meet the folks who made it all happen

The way we see it, a wedding is about celebrating a commitment with your community of friends and loved ones. It's for this reason that we decided that it was important involve the amazing skills of our friends and family in every aspect of our big party. Our wedding wasn't just a reflection of our commitment to each other, but also an expression of our commitment to the community that supports us and our relationship.

So, here are just a few of the friends went out of their way to help us with our wedding. We want to take the chance to thank each of them for the time and love they're putting into the event...there's so many others, too. Tere, Heidi, Joshua, Damon, Brent, Connie, Dallas, Owen, Eric Gier, Chaya, Dori and on and on and on! It takes a village to make a wedding like this happen, and we love and appreciate all of you so much!

Erin Swendemen, Caterer
Erin is a friend of ours from Los Angeles. A professional personal chef, Erin prepares vegan food that has had Andreas drooling for years. When the question of food first came up, there was only one name on his lips: ERIN!

Amrita Huja, Photographer
Long admirers of our Seattle friend Ami's work, we were super excited when we had the opportunity to steal her vision all to ourselves. AMI'S CAMERA MAKES US LOOK PRETTY!

Suzanne Sharpe, Officiant
Suzanne is Ariel's godmother, and has played a supportive role in Ariel's life since 1975. A licensed minister of the Universal Life Church, Suzanne was ordained online.

Susannah Ribeiro, Cakemaker
When Susannah heard about the wedding, the first words out of her mouth were, "Can I bake the cake?" Having been fattened up on her sweets (both vegan and sinfully non-vegan) for years, how could we refuse?

Sarah Rinzler, Lower Location Manager
Sarah (aka "The Rinz") is one of our closest Seattle pals. She recently acted as Festival Coordinator for the Seattle Jewish Film Festival (SHALOM!), and we're pretty sure that she'll kick some butt coordinating our little festival, too.

Sarah Kelly, Upper Location Manager
A dear friend from Los Angeles, Sarah has spent the better part of a decade organizing events for various non-profits including Gathering of the Tribes and the Los Angeles office of the Girl Scouts. Perfect people wrassler!

Tania Russell, Vocalist & Makeup Artist
Tania is not only the Los Angeles super star who's going to make us look pretty, she's also the one who's going to open her mouth during our ceremony and sing a song that will make your ears tingle.

Tim Crone, Sr. Camp Counselor
Tim was there when Andreas & Ariel met for the first time. And he's been there ever since. He'll be acting as the go-to guy when it comes to finding a place to camp at our wedding. Tim knows tents.

Megan Hill, Designer
Megan generously gifted her design skills to help us with all our wedding's visual components. Look for her digital fingerprint on the "save the date" postcards, the invitations, the programs — and this website!

David Weinstock, Jeweler
David is an old family friend of Ariel's, and her mother delivered David's two sons. David designed and created our custom bands from Ariel's grandmother's wedding ring.
