Beautiful Bainbridge Island, Washington
We were married on beautiful Bainbridge Island, a sub-rurual community a half hour ferry ride from downtown Seattle.
For us, part of the joy of having our wedding on Bainbridge was sharing the natural beauty of the island with our extended circle of family and friends. Our hope is that this introduction to the area will be the first of many visits for some of you! We loved having you here with us — come back any time!
The ceremony and dinner took place outdoors at the gorgeous grounds of
at Holly Lane
Gardens, a bed & breakfast just up a one-lane dirt road from where
Ariel grew up. How gorgeous was it there? Seriously. We were delerious from the beauty of those gardens — and the cabin we used as a bridal suite was cozy and wonderful. We encourage all of you to head back for a visit to the B&B. Patti made the most wonderful breakfasts and man oh man. SWEET HEAVEN! We really highly recommend a trip to the B&B.
The late night part of the wedding was spent just down the road at Sacred Groves,
the super-funky eco-retreat space
that Ariel's mother, Therese, runs on her beautifully forested
property. With 10 acres of wooded trails and meadows to explore, the 40 or so guests who camped got a real treat with a forest fairyland filled with candles and lanterns and tents. It looked so cool back under the trees! Therese loved hosting everyone and wants all our wedding guests to know that Sacred Groves is always ALWAYS available for personal retreats.
