
… You wake up from a dream about being on a planet with a sun that’s about to go out, and you think to yourself “OMG, if the sun went out here on Earth, we’d have nowhere to go!” and it actually keeps you up for a while.
(I fell back asleep and the dream went on. A couple dream-hours later, my friend Vishal told me that now that he knew the sun was burning out and we’d be leaving, he “the whole male/rectangular architecture thing on this planet almost seems quaint.” Almost.)
* Last night I had a dream that I was an amazing dancer. I woke up this morning and went to dance class, but wasn’t able to live up to my own expectations.
* After seeing the spread in the Times yesterday, my mom revealed that one of her early motherhood fears was that her daughter would grow up to be a fashion model. Evidently I am living out my mother’s worst nightmares, one at a time.
* Today I was told to “adjust my attitude.” This should be a lesson to you all that behind the Electrolicious exterior, I’m actually a shady character, full of acid and spit.
* I can’t stop listening to Just Jack’s album, Overtones. Here are some lyrics for you: Lookin’ around at my friends and I can see that the end of an era has come to pass/The fun and the games and the fluid in our brains have all been reduced by half/So let’s just hold on to what we’ve got right now. If that bums you out, then listen to “Glory Days” instead.
